History  of  the  Department

     The University of  Dental Medicine , Mandalay  was  first  established  on  the  29th   November , 1999  at  the  University of  Medicine , Mandalay ,  in Chan Aye Tharzan Township , Mandalay. In  the  academic  year  1999-2000 , the  English  course  at  the  University  of  Dental  Medicine  began  with ( 74 )  students. Then  the  Head and  the staff  members  of  the  University  of  Medicine ,  Mandalay  took responsibility  in  teaching  English.

     On  11th  December  2000 , the  University  was  moved  to  62nd  street , Myothit , Chan Mya Thar Zi  Township , Mandalay.  It  was  run  by  U  Aung  Thein  Tun , Head of  English  Department  of  the  University  of  Medicine , Mandalay   and       U  Thein  Zaw  Moe , tutor  of  English  Department  of  the  University  of  Dental  Medicine , Mandalay. On  3rd   August  2001 , the present  Head  Daw  Amon  Koe became  the  Lecturer  and  Head  of  English  Department  in  this  University.  The Department  has  a  Head (Lecturer) , one  assistant  lecturers and  two  tutors  at present.  English  is  taught  only  to  the  first  year  students.
