University of DentalMedicine was first established on 19.11.1999 at 30th Street in the compound of University of Medicine, Mandalay. On 11.12.2000, university was moved to Myo thit, 62nd Street, near 300-bedded Teaching Hospital.The Preventive and Social Medicine Department for dental medicine commenced inNovember 2003-2004 Academic Year. At that time, the Head and Assistant Lecture of Preventive and Social Medicine was Dr. Daw Khin Khin (M.B., B.S., Diploma ofMedical Science (Public Health)) till 2012. Dr. U Myo Htun (M.B., B.S., M. Med.Sc. (Public Health)), Assistant Lecturer, worked in the department from 2008 to2014.
