The University of Dental Medicine , Mandalay was established on 1st October 1998 according to the new set up. In 1999 , the Physics course at the University of Dental Medicine , Mandalay started in ( 1999 – 2000 ) academic year with ( 74 ) matriculated students. At that time , the Head of the Physics Department was Daw Khin Ohn Myint and staff members. On 11th December 2000 , theUniversity was moved to 62nd street , Myothit , Chan Mya Thar Zi Township ,Mandalay. She was transferred to University of Nursing ,Yangon .Then the present Head Daw Mya Mya Than became Lecturer and Head of the department. TheDepartment is run by a head , one assistant lecturer , three demonstrators and one laboratory staff. Physics is taught as a subject only to the first year students.
